Gary C. David, Professor, Bentley University

Gary David is a Professor of Sociology and Experience Design at Bentley University. He also is one of the creators and Co-Directors for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion major at Bentley University, as well as the Coordinator for the Diversity and Society Liberal Studies Major. He has researched and been a speaker on topics related to medical transcription, speech recognition technologies, electronic health records, sociology of diagnosis, and digital psychiatric tools. He has conducted trainings on creating inclusive diversity and inclusion programs, using systems thinking in design, and participatory design and stakeholder alignment. He is the creator of the Connecting Disconnections framework, using an assets-based community development model to create connections for positive change.


Professor David received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees from Central Michigan University, and his PhD in Sociology from Wayne State University (Detroit, MI). He is a Certified Clinical Sociologist, granted through the Association for Applied and Clinical Sociology. Along with Dr. Adam Gamwell, he is the co-host of Experience by Design podcast
