Jessica Halem, MBA, Senior Director, Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative, University of Pennsylvania
Jessica Halem is the Senior Director of The Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative at the University of Pennsylvania. Eidos co-creates solutions that bring together the best evidence-based strategies with scientific innovations that improve LGBTQ people’s health and well-being.
Before joining Penn, Jessica was the inaugural LGBTQ Director at Harvard Medical School where she led programs across the University and its 15 hospitals. Because of her efforts, Harvard launched its first transgender health program, increased the student body to 15% LGBTQ, and received a historic grant of $1.5 million to integrate sexual and gender minority health equity into medical school curriculum.
Previously, Jessica ran the Lesbian Community Cancer Project in Chicago where she implemented the nation’s first LGBTQ cultural competency trainings for the CDC, created attention-grabbing quit smoking programs, and served on then-candidate Obama’s first LGBTQ Advisory Committee.
